NAS Uploader

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 12 September 2026

NAS Uploader is designed to transfer files directly from your Android device to a WebDAV server or NAS that you configure.

Data the app accesses

The app can access only the folders that you explicitly select through Android's system folder picker. It may read file names, file metadata, file contents, and media types from those selected folders so it can perform backups and optional cleanup operations.

The app stores the NAS/WebDAV host, port, username, destination path, backup schedule, network preference, and backup history locally on your device. The WebDAV password is stored using Android Keystore-backed encryption.

Data transfer

Files selected for backup are sent directly from your Android device to the WebDAV server or NAS address that you configure. NAS Uploader does not upload your files to a developer-operated server.

Your WebDAV credentials are used only to authenticate with the server that you configure.

If you enable optional NAS verification during cleanup, the app checks the corresponding backed-up file paths on your configured WebDAV/NAS server before allowing those local files to be deleted.

Device cleanup

NAS Uploader includes an optional manual cleanup feature for selected backup source folders. Cleanup is never automatic. The app first shows a preview and requires explicit confirmation before deleting files from the device.

A file is considered eligible for cleanup only when it is older than the selected retention period and matches a successful local backup record. The app re-checks that identity immediately before deletion. Optional NAS verification is disabled by default.

Data sharing

NAS Uploader does not sell user data and does not share your files, credentials, or backup history with the developer or advertising companies.

Analytics and advertising

The app does not currently contain advertising SDKs or third-party analytics SDKs.

Notifications

The app may send local notifications to show backup progress, completion, or errors. On supported Android versions, notification permission is requested from the user.

Data deletion

App settings and local backup history can be removed by clearing the app's storage or uninstalling the app. Removing local app data does not delete files that were already uploaded to your NAS or WebDAV server.

Files are deleted from the Android device only when the user explicitly uses the cleanup feature and confirms deletion.

Android backup

NAS Uploader disables Android cloud backup for its own app data. NAS connection settings, backup history, and encrypted credential data are not intended to be restored automatically through Android device backup.

Security

NAS Uploader supports HTTPS WebDAV connections. Users are responsible for configuring a secure WebDAV server and valid TLS certificate.
